Rafting can be described as a river safari held by boats made of
thick rubber. Rafting is completely different from the others in the
sense that it doesn't require any special education, talent or physical
condition. For rafting you must have a clothing made of a special
material called neopren (which keeps you dry), a helmet and a life west.
Each raft, which carries 4-8 people, is under the full control of a
professional rafter. The crew, in other words, you, paddle in accordance
with the guide's instructions. The aim of a rafter is to reach the
target arrival point while trying to stay on the boat (so you have to be
so careful about maintaining the front upright position). The most
popular rivers for rafting in Turkey are;
Coruh River Coruh River is considered to be one of the best 10 rivers
in the world by professional rafters. The difficulty degree goes up to 5
in this river. Coruh is an ideal for rafting from the mid May till the
end of August.
Dalaman River There are two different paths in Dalaman river in terms
of difficulty. The difficulty degree of upper part is 2-3 while it’s
only 1-2 for the lower part.
Koprucay Koprucay is convenient for white water rafting throughout
the whole year. Mostly Koprucay is preferred for rafting for two people.
It's difficulty degree is about 2-3 while the lower part (where the
river meets the sea) has 1-2 difficulty degrees.
Melen River Melen is another river that is very suitable for rafting.
Melen River, being very close to Istanbul, is in great demand for big
city rafting fans. From the beginning of December till the middle of
May, Melen River suitable for rafting. The difficulty degree of Melen
River is 2-3 and you can complete the whole path in about 120-140
minutes time.
Zamanti River Zamanti is in the Cappadocia Region and has a
difficulty level of 3
Apart from those above, the rivers in Mediterranean Region are also
mostly convenient for rafting.
